Meet the Conference Speakers

Rev. Nam Soo Kim
Founder &Team Lead, 4/14 Window Global
About Rev. Kim
He is a Co‑founder of the 4/14 Movement, alongside Dr. Luis Bush. Their shared encounter at Promise Church in New York in 2008 ignited a vision to focus ministry on children aged 4 to 14, recognizing this as a critical window when spiritual receptivity peaks. He held the title of Pastor Emeritus of Promise Church and was instrumental in launching the first Global Summit of the 4/14 Movement in 2009 at that same church.
Rev. Kim, began his pastoral role at the original Full Gospel New York Church, later renamed Promise Church, taking office on September 8, 1977 as its second senior pastor
Over four decades of pastoral leadership at Promise Church shaped it into a vibrant congregation. Though exact current size wasn’t cited directly, one mention notes it grew from 15 original members to approximately 5,000 parishioners today. He served as Executive Presbyter for the Assemblies of God (AG) in the U.S., particularly for language-area and non-resident regions, beginning in 1999. In recognition of his long service, he was honored as an Honorary General Presbyter in 2019 upon retirement from that role. He served as Adjunct Professor at New York Theological Seminary, affiliated with the Church of God, from 1999 to present
Educational credentials include: Seoul National University, Bachelor’s in English Education, Presbyterian University and Theological Seminary (Bible and theology), Drew Theological Seminary, STM (Master of Sacred Theology) and Advanced studies at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary, Charlotte campus—as a Doctor of Ministry (D.Min.) candidate.
Under his leadership, Promise Church initiated the Powerhouse Kids ministry, part of the 4/14 discipleship approach. This program includes a broad array of activities—choir, piano, drama, sports, arts, crafts, and more—to engage children holistically in faith formation. This model has even been adopted by other churches and districts, such as the Assemblies of God’s Southwest Hispanic District.
Rev. Kim’s broader vision was articulated in mission gatherings where he described the church’s mission posture as needing to shift from a passive “cruise ship” mentality to the more proactive stance of an “aircraft carrier”—actively advancing the Gospel in strategic engagement with younger generation’s formation
